This hike takes you to the top of Tugela Falls. You’ll be climbing up the Amphitheatre via the famous chain ladders, and looking out over its impressive valley floor, almost 1 km (~ 0.62 miles) below.
Tugela Falls is the world’s highest waterfall, plunging a whopping 948 m ( 3,110 ft) off of the Mont-Aux-Sources plateau into the valley below. It’s not 1 drop though, rather 5 leaps. Tugela Falls gets its name from the Zulu word “Thukela”, meaning “sudden”.
